There is a skit in an episode of Mr. Show (entitled "Recruiters," in season two, I think) about this kind of thing. It's great.

well, i didn't think it was something special... until i tried to do that outside on my basketball hoop. it didn't work.

That kid is owned by Reebok

In two years Nike will be signing him into some $10 million+ shoe contract...

Nike already owns lots of [sweatshop] kids, let Reebok keep this one.

Here's a story about the kid in the Kansas City Star...apparently the local media didn't take the kid seriously and the parents hounded everyone until Reebok listened:
