Bag Borrow or Steal is like Netflix for designer handbags. What a fantastic idea. I wonder what other types of goods might be rented in this fashion?

looks like a great idea, especially with tastes in bags being constantly changing. not sure how it looks from a business standpoint for the company though. they do need to hire a web designer though.

I think it is a horrible idea. I mean it's one thing to have a customer keep their $5 Pulp Fiction DVD and quite another to have someone run off with a $900 Prada bag.

Uh, I think they've probably thought of that. On the How It Works page, it says they ship all the bags via FedEx so there's no lost bags to worry about. They also keep a credit card on file so if an account gets cancelled and a bag isn't returned, the company can just charge the customer for the bag, or at the very least, pursue payment via lawyers or a collection agency. The profit margins will probably be high enough to allow for some loss. Besides, retail stores probably lose just as much or more due to shoplifting and they don't seem to be going out of business.

Yeah, this is pretty much genius. They will rake it in on wealthy women. Honestly, that's the untapped money machine on the internet. Well thought, albeit deceptively simple ventures like this could really fuel the internet economy.

This is a great idea, can't believe nobody thought of it before. Expensive items that people want to be seen with to give off the air of style/class. Why buy when you can just hire for long enough to impress whomever it is you are suposed to impress. Im sure there are plenty of other status items that could fit in with this model, iPods, powerbooks...
