US State Department bans Courier from all

US State Department bans Courier from all official correspondence, replacing it with "more modern" Times New Roman. Personally, I would like to see them using Comic Sans.

But now all of the State Department's screenplays and teleplays will be rejected out of hand as improperly formatted!

The Times New Roman and Roman Empire analogies are bound to arise now. One question: will this make the blacked out copy in declassified documents easier to read?

My Dean's List Certificate that I got in undergrad printed my name in Comic Sans. Needless to say, I was disaffected.

And I did *not* go to Clown College!

my school district redesigned their curriculum a few years ago- using copius amounts of comic sans. that's what happens when you let a bunch of elementary school teachers loose with a word processor. and i won't even mention the PowerPoints, and the worksheets that link to nonexistant websites, and... well, i'm a little bitter.

All this talk of typefaces and not one mention of hobo. 'Tis a sad, sad day indeed...

Wow...the US State Department DOES have some sense. Courier has got to be the single ugliest font I've ever seen in my life.
