GmailFS provides a mountable Linux filesystem which uses your Gmail account as its storage medium. This is beyond cool.
Yeah great, I can't even get a friggin account.
suckz 2 B U
If you would like a gmail invite, i have a few that i posted at http://www.reyhan.co.uk/weblog/archives/04/08/gmail_invite_urls.html.
suckz 2 B U (again)
Used up all reyhan's invites.
Thats not how it was supposed to work. Sigh.
Take this!... http://gmail.google.com/gmail/a-626da27a07-cd8b53bedf-601ad6d0bf
Thank you kind Bon!
Nothing at all to do with gmail, but The Great Gatsby gets two thumbs up and a cheesy grin from me - it's one of my favourite books.
'Swims and relaxing naps in the sun'?! It's raining here in London.
Google is going to lose tons of tech street cred in the coming months shutting down all of the unintended uses of Gmail.
Whoa whoa... gmail invites without me?
now let's just combine accounts and we've got a distributed, infinite filesystem. If I could use my 2 gmail accounts plus my Yahoo premium, I'd have 4 GB of online storage. That beats .Mac by a long shot!
i know i'm a little off topic, but when i look at the invites that i sent out from GMail, they have a link referring to tJason's idea of a Google Browser. i'd assume everyone would get these ads since the content of the invite mailings is pretty much the same. anyone else get this?
Oh mighty lazy web, I would like an OS X version of this fine hack to use with my remaining five invites.
another one for the fstab
shhh... http://gmail.google.com/gmail/a-3da4c5d2b4-1c0b87eac1-a0c347f2a8
I've got two to give, if you're still desparate...
Drop a line to 1f2frfbf@gmail.com, it may take me a day or two to remember tho...
Hurgle, gmailfs is not likely to support OS X anytime soon, but if you've got root on a linux box somewhere it would be simple enough to export your Gmail filesystem from there to your mac via samba or nfs or even webdav. I'd imagine gmailfs is probably dead slow already, so one extra layer of protocol would only make it slightly more miserable to use.
Webdav! Webdav! I spit on Webdav. Linux is a floozie who promises you everything and leaves you sobbing with scripts that never work quite right.
if anyone is still looking for invites, drop me a line lodevermeiren at gmail, I've got several left
i have 4. MadamM at... well, you know.
