The web site/communty Plastic has been down for weeks now, and its status is unclear. The chat room is still operational and there's a message about some hardware testing going on, but who knows. Do you know?

Plastic died long before the plug on the server was pulled. In its day it was a glorious thing, but the regulars who made it (I'm looking at you MayorBob) also destroyed it (still looking). The unofficial replacement is at http://www.treesandthings.com. It's built on Scoop, and hurts my eyes.

Plastic was one of those rare gems that allowed itself to be bogged down in egos. waitingforplastic.blogspot.com was the holding pattern for a while, but like Parrow said above treesanthings is the "replacement."

However, it's unfair to say MayorBob or anyone ended Plastic except the one person who could and apparently did, Carl.

Carl just keeps slipping away from us. His last [b]log post was back in November. Anybody know what the guy does to put food on the table?
